Use a simple J-pole aerial tuned to 1090MHz - it's only about 4" high and much better than the stock aerial.ģ.
Stick with the R820 dongle, don't buy the E4000 version because a) it is less sentiive than the R820 version and b) the static protection diodes are missing on many E4000s, so the front-end is vulnerable.Ģ. Just a few other comments having tinkered with these units for the past year or so:ġ.
